- What you will need to play a film:

- * 386SX 16MHz processor (386DX-33 or faster is recommended)

- * PC DOS/MS DOS (supports 3.3 to 5.0)

- Setting up the demo:
-
- The SIPLAY.EXE file contains 3 files:
-
- README.1ST This information file you are now reading.
- SIPLAYER.EXE The archive containing the player program.
- DINSTALL.BAT A batch file to help you install the program.

- To install the player to your hard drive, you need to create a directory
- called SIFILMS. At the C: prompt (or any other drive prompt), type CD\
- to change to the root directory, then type MD SIFILMS to create the
- directory. Copy the SIPLAY.EXE file to the SIFILMS directory. Then
- change to the SIFILMS directory by typing CD\SIFILMS. Type SIPLAY to
- extract the three files mentioned above. Then type DINSTALL to extract
- the actual demo files to their proper locations and run the setup program
- described in the next paragraph. The DINSTALL batch file will create a
- VAULT subdirectory under the SIFILMS directory, or the directory where you
- placed the player program. Once you have done this, you may want to deleted
- SIPLAYER.EXE to conserve disk space, if you ever need it again, it is in the
- SIPLAY.EXE archive.

- Configuring the Player Program
- ------------------------------

- The Stunt Island player utility that is included can be configured to your
- system very easily. Change directories to the SIFILMS directory you created
- above. At the prompt type SETUP. The setup screen will appear. Use the UP
- and DOWN arrows to move the cursor to the options you want to change, and
- press ENTER to see a menu of options. Select the options that match your
- computer and press ENTER. When you have selected all of your options, move
- the cursor to "Install with these options" and press ENTER. Your config-
- uration will be saved, and you can play a film.

- Playing A Film
- --------------

- To play a film with the player program, change to the SIFILMS directory,
- and type PLAYONE. A menu screen will appear and automatically place you
- in the SIFILMS\VAULT subdirectory where the films are stored. Any .FLM
- and .ALL files you download should be stored here. (NOTE: You must have an
- .ALL file in order to play a .FLM file with PLAYONE) Use the arrow keys
- or the mouse to move the cursor to the .FLM file you want to play. Click
- on the filename to highlight it, and then move the cursor to the OK button.
- Click or press ENTER and the film will start. (Keyboard Only Users: If your
- cursor seems stuck, press the TAB key to free it.)

- Click on EXIT at any time to end viewing.

- Controls at the bottom of the screen allow you to fast forward and reverse,
- stop at certain cells and click forward or backward one frame at a time,
- or to jump to the start or end of the film.

- || or || are the stop motion buttons. The first time you click them the film
- will stop on that frame, further clicks to either will move forward or back
- one frame.

- <| or |> are the normal play and reverse buttons, they will play the film in
- either direction at normal speed.

- << or >> are the fast forward and fast reverse buttons. They will play the
- film in either direction at high speed.

- <<< or >>> will take you to the very beginning or the very end of a film.

- This program can be copied a distributed freely as long as no modifications are
- made to the SIPLAY.EXE archive or the files contained therein.
